Howdy, Everybody! August is almost to it's end and we are glad to have made it through this busy, hectic month with Fair time and lots and lots of meals for many different events to keep us hoppin'. The beginning of August saw us hosting several class reunions and get togethers. It was fun to see people reuniting and sharing High School memories! We served many groups with meetings, on and off-site, and managed to squeeze in a wedding in Iliff, CO and a surprise birthday party and surprise wedding anniversary! Serving meals for the brew pub has been an adventure! We've come up with a great menu and are trying to add as many nights with "Specials" as we can. We've enjoyed watching everyone get to know us and how Tumbleweed and Red Willow work together. It's not as confusing as folks thought it would be! We are here Wednesday through Saturday with the kitchen open from 5pm to 9pm. Cornhole Tourney night has been successful with many enjoying the game, Tumbleweed beer, as well as our Rocky Mountain Oyster special. The next tourney is this Saturday, August 25th. September finds us getting to our "Wedding Month". Every weekend is booked with one celebration or another. We have our first Quinceanera and weddings this September! We are so excited for this month to get started! There are still a few week day dates available for meetings if you need us. An update on Christmas party bookings. If all our inquiries confirm, we have one Friday and one Saturday still open for parties. We still have many options for week night celebrations. Please call soon to book your Christmas event! So, that is our latest update. Thanks for all the support and encouragement during our first 5 months on Main Street! We hope to see you soon! Smothered Sidewinders! YUMM! On Red Willow Menu at Tumbleweed! One of our favs! Caprese lasagna and homemade bread!Wow! Time flies! It's been a while since we've had a blog update. So many wonderful things have happened and are happening at Red Willow On Main! We officially had our first celebration at our venue on March 10. It was so much fun to finally be able to have people come and use our space as it was intended! So excited for Lisa and her team and all their success! We followed that weekend with our 3rd annual Bridal Expo on March 17. We had a super group of vendors, brides, grooms and friends/family. Several engaged couples have chosen to have their receptions at Red Willow On Main. Some have decided to spend their entire day with us and have their ceremony there also. We're very excited about this trend and look forward to these special days. We've continued to serve meals off-site and have settled into a wonderful new routine of prepping and delivering. Having our own kitchen is exactly what we dreamed it would be and thank God for this wonderful space! Our blessings have overflowed. We have started our Pop-Up meals and are seeing people get on board, as folks catch on to our unconventional events. Our Pop-ups are just that. We "pop up" with an opportunity for our friends to come dine with us with a specific meal that we design for a specific date. Our first night was Italian night, and we had a wonderful evening serving Lasagna and Saltimbocca. No one went away hungry! Our Pop-up Chicken dinner was another fun evening. We thank our guests that night, as we were recovering from a power-surge earlier in the week that took out our dishwasher and un-programmed our fryer! State-of-the-art equipment is temperamental when it comes to electricity. Our next Pop-up is a tribute to mom for Mother's Day. It will be Thursday, May 10 at 6:30 pm. Reservations are necessary for any Pop-up and are available now on our reservation page. Or you may call us or stop by and we'll get you signed up! We will be having our first Lunch Pop-up on Monday, May 21 so consider that date also. May 5th saw us hosting Yuma Prom! The ladies were breathtaking in their formal dresses and the gentlemen were dashing in their tuxes. The junior class did a great job lighting up the Great Room to create a garden-perfect atmosphere. We enjoyed watching the student body dance the night away and thank all the faculty and parents that helped make this celebration so memorable. Our building partner, Tumbleweed Brewing and Wine Co., is ready to open their doors on May 12. We look forward to our partnership with them as we provide the catering, during their business hours and they assist our clients with beer and wine for their celebrations. It seems like its been forever, so we are excited to be at this point in their adventure. We are looking forward to our upcoming events and want to remind everyone that time flies! We are all ready looking to Christmas bookings and encourage anyone toying with the idea of having a Christmas Party with us, to get their date on the calendar! We have also started booking wedding dates for 2019. Make sure to book the date you want before time flies by! Thanks for checking out our blog and we look forward to celebrating with you soon! We're getting closer!
The kitchen is in and just about ready for us to use on a daily basis. Just a few minor things to do and we'll be up and running! The back section of the building renovation is just about complete with the Great Room and Brew Pub coming along. We are slated to be able to use the Great Room by the first of March. We certainly hope so, as our Bridal Expo is set to happen on Saturday, March 17th! We are booking now for all your upcoming events, so don't wait to get on our calendar. September Saturdays are going fast and we already have people looking at Christmas party bookings. We will start being at the building on a more regular basis now, so stop in to see us! Come in the back door and find us in the kitchen or Conference Room. Totally awesome and exciting! Our kitchen equipment is coming in this week! Please go to our blog on www.redwillowcatering.com/dishing-it-out/here-comes-the-kitchen for that update!
Slowly, but surely things are taking shape and beginning to look a lot like the business we've been working towards. We can't wait to share it with you. If you've found yourself on this site, please look around with the understanding that we are still under construction and a work in progress. Lots of details to iron out and info to get processed! We hope to have things much improved by the end of the year and ready for use the beginning of 2018! Exciting things like an up to date calendar of venue events, and online reservation and payment for pop-up event nights. How cool will that be! Thank you for all your support and encouragement as we've gone on this adventure! We can't wait to share the culmination with you early in 2018 with our Grand Opening! How exciting to be launching our new Red Willow On Main website and blog! If you've browsed through here at all, you may have noticed that we're still under construction. As with all good things, this may take us a little time to create a new website and get it functioning as it should. We really can't complain, because the reason for our slowness is that we're cooking up a storm and enjoying serving lots of fine folks great food for reunions, life celebrations, meetings and weddings!
Why the new website, you may ask? Quite simply, because it gives people more ways to find us! If they're looking for a caterer, the old website will come up! If they're looking for a place for a meeting or wedding or any type of celebration, Red Willow On Main will pop up! All will be connected with links to one another, and all will be ran and monitored by us. We also realized that with the things that we want to have available to our clients booking with us, the other site would become very cluttered and hard to navigate. What things might that be? Well, for starters, we will have a calendar on this site with available dates for venue use as well as bookings for Pop-Up Restaurant meals!! So much excitement and fun ahead! So, when will this all be happening? Here's the REAL scoop. The kitchen is slated to be completed with equipment going in at the end of October or the beginning of November. With inspection passage, we could be up and using the KITCHEN by November! The VENUE will be finished after the kitchen but could potentially be ready by the New Year. We can't guarantee any dates, but this is certainly a possibility! For sure, we will be completely open in early 2018! So now is a good time to look forward to next year and book your events for 2018! |
